MINUTES OF THE GOPHER STATE CHEVYS GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING APRIL 10, 2012
The April 10, 2012 meeting of the Gopher State Chevy Club was called to order at 7:05 PM by President Harley Hansen.
Roll call was taken and found 8 officers and 9 members present. Co-Secretary Ceil Severson read the minutes of the March meeting. Minutes were accepted as read. Treasurer's report was read and accepted.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
Car shows-Pete has some updates and will review them with Old Business
Social Chair- Ron Krueger passed around signup sheet for our April outing to the Machine Shed on April 22, 2012 at 5:00PM.
He suggested a possible summer cruise to Vino in the Valley in Maiden Rock, Wisconsin. We will talk about this again at our summer outings.
Newsletter Editor- Linda had no updates but there was a discussion regarding advertising in the newsletter.
Historian/Membership- Don Rohweder has received 21-22 renewals as of this meeting. Deadline for renewals was discussed .
A deadline of July 1st was voted on and passed.
Public Relations- Tom Masso sent an invitation to the Corvette Club to join us at the East Bethel Show. He wants club to send him ideas for other ways to promote the club.
OLD BUSINESS
Jeanne has received letters from Children's Cancer Research and Union Gospel Mission to attend luncheons to honor contributors. Linda West volunteered to attend the one for Children's Cancer Research.
Insurance paperwork for the East Bethel Car Show has been received and given to Harley.
Pete presented car show updates
1) Culvers Car Show in Forest Lake has been cancelled
2) On May 8, 2012 we will be meeting at the A&W on Hwy 65 in Columbia Heights from 5:00-8:00PM.
3) East Bethel info has been sent to the MSRA Line Chaser
4) We will be volunteering at North St. Paul on Friday June 8
5) The ALL GM Show in on Sunday June 10 with set up the day before
Norm will make a sign for our shows inviting new members. Ed will work on making new directional signs.
New meeting place for fall/winter- we need to continue to look. There was talk of having a committee for this but nothing was voted on. Norm will be checking out the Davanni's in Arden Hills. We will discuss this again at the ALL GM Show.
NEW BUSINESS
New club shirts have been requested. There was much discussion. Linda and Denny will check on this.
Pete suggested that on the 2nd Tuesday in June we cruise to the 58 Bar & Grill in Champlin.
Ron will make arrangements for us at the Culver's on Rice street the Thursday before Back to the Fifties.
